There are also gluten-free breads in bakeries and stores, but most of the time, they are a bit expensive and do not taste as good as this one. If you are lactose and gluten-intolerant, this is the perfect bread recipe for you. You can enjoy it on its own or use it to make your favorite sandwiches. If you have recently been diagnosed with celiac disease and have been wanting to eat bread, give this recipe a try.
Add the warm water to a large bowl, followed by the dry yeast. Stir to combine. Add the psyllium husk powder. Mix until smooth. Let it sit for 10 minutes until gel-like consistency.
Combine the maple syrup or honey, olive oil, and salt. Stir well.
Add 2 cups of flour to the mixture. Mix with a hand mixer for about 2 minutes. Next, add 2 egg whites and mix again for another 2 minutes. If the dough seems to loose, add the remaining flour.
Transfer to a greased 5 x 8 inch loaf pan. Spread evenly. Let it rise for about 30 to 45 minutes.
Bake at 390F for about 35 to 45 minutes. Once done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool down completely.
Once cooled, cut into slices and enjoy.
