One of the top comfort food I always make at home is mac and cheese. Nothing can beat this simple yet yummy classic dish. Today, I have found the best baked macaroni and cheese recipe made by Marsha on Youtube. I am amazed by its creaminess and texture! It’s not mushy, has the right amount of sauce, and doesn’t taste like artificial flavors. You should definitely try this simple recipe at home. Watch the video below for the full instructions.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Boil a pot of water. Do not add oil to the water. Once boiling, add the elbow macaroni and a teaspoon of salt. Mix and cook until al dente.
Cut the Velveeta cheese into blocks. Get a pot and place it over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of melted butter and two tablespoons of flour into the pot. Whisk continuously until you take out the raw taste of the flour for about 2 minutes.
Add evaporated milk gradually while continuously mixing until it becomes warm. Next, add the grounded annatto to the mixture. Mix until it becomes a cheese-like color.
Add the Velveeta cheese and some sharp cheddar cheese onto the pot. Continuously mix the sauce until it thickens as you don’t want to burn the bottom.
Place the elbow macaroni on a foil pan and pour the cheese mixture on top. Mix them well until the macaroni is fully coated with the sauce. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and Monterey jack cheese on top.
Cover with foil and place on the top rack of your oven. Let it bake for 10 minutes with the cover. After 10 minutes, remove the foil on top and continue baking for another 20-30 minutes or until the top becomes golden brown.
