I frequently serve this to my family and they all love it, especially the kids. With just a few ingredients already in your kitchen, you can make a large batch. And who says it’s only for breakfast? These French bread rolls will absolutely impress even on brunch. Learn how to make it by watching the video below.

Ingredients:

  • 2 bananas
  • 5 slices of bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar, divided
  • butter
  • parmesan cheese

Directions:

Step 1

Peel the bananas and slice them into smaller pieces. Melt some butter in a large pan, then add the slices of bananas. Stir them until covered in butter, then add 1 tbsp sugar. Continue stirring until the sugar fully dissolves and the bananas turn mushy. Remove from the pan and set aside once done. Next, cut the crust part of five slices of loaf bread, then flatten each piece using a rolling pin. Set aside. In another bowl, crack one egg, then add 1 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp milk. Whisk together to make eggwash.

Step 2

Lay one flattened piece of bread on your working surface, then add some banana mixture to the lower part. Roll it over, then brush some eggwash at the edge to secure the roll. Repeat these steps until you you finished rolling all five pieces of bread. Once done, dip each roll in the remaining egg wash. Melt some butter in a pan and fry the banana rolls until golden brown. After frying, sprinkle some parmesan cheese powder, then serve.
