I love banana pudding and I had always used my Grandma’s recipe because she made the most delicious Banana Pudding, but I recently saw this recipe on Youtube for banana pudding and I decided to try it because it used whipping cream instead of the traditional custard that my Grandma used and it sounded really rich and delicious. So I thought, why not, banana pudding it is one of my very favorite desserts from my childhood and I really needed to try it every way under the sun. Well, low and behold I had forgotten how much I loved the delicate flavor of cooked bananas and memories of my Grandma came flooding back even though I was using a different recipe and I knew Grandma would have loved this recipe too and she also loved trying new things, she wasn’t really set in her ways, so I knew I had to make this Bread Pudding in a hurry! I started by getting my ingredients together which were really basic, but there is lots of delicious heavy whipping cream in this recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1/3 Cup Flour
- 3 Egg Yolks
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 Cups Whole Milk
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
- 3 to 4 Large Bananas (sliced)
- 1 Box Of Nilla Vanilla Wafers
Directions:
First set up your double boiler and add flour, egg yolks, sugar, and salt then stir occasionally for 12 to 15 minutes until thickened.
Then whip your heavy whipping cream and fold in your custard mixture.
Then layer the whip cream custard with Nilla Vanilla Wafers and bananas and finish with more whip cream and some crumbled wafers.
This banana pudding was so amazing, I know Grandma would have loved it too.
