This delicious French toast bake only requires day-old bread, Granny Smith apples, brown sugar, cornstarch, eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and maple syrup. The powdered sugar and whipped cream are optional, but they add a nice touch to this yummy dessert. It’s incredibly easy to prepare–anyone can make it.

Start by preheating your oven to 350F.
Cut the bread into 1-inch slices, then cut into 1-inch cubes. Place on a medium bowl.
Dice the peeled apples into small bite-size pieces. Transfer to the same bowl as the bread, then add 1 cup of brown sugar and 2 teaspoons of cornstarch.
In a separate bowl, add 6 eggs, 2 cups of milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Whisk until well combined. Pour into the bread bowl. Stir until well combined.
Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch greased baking tray and spread evenly. Drizzle maple syrup on top.
Place in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Cut into slices. Before serving, dust powdered sugar and add whipped cream on top. Enjoy!
