With four ingredients, you can make a cinnamon sugar pull apart loaf with Pillsbury’s recipe. This is their twist on coffee cake, and everything is baked in a loaf pan for a morning treat. If you like having sweets in the morning, this would be good to serve on a side with fresh fruit, eggs and protein. Also, it’s a fun recipe and baking idea to make with the kid’s because it’s so simple and quick. There are so many ways to use this recipe as a base because you can add other ingredients such as pecans or raisins. I like plain sweet bread, and this reminds me of monkey bread. This would be a great snack and I love the concept of a pull apart bread because it’s pretty neat to pull the pieces one by one.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2cans (6-oz each) Pillsbury™ Flaky Layers refrigerated Buttermilk biscuits (5 biscuits each)
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted

Directions:

First, preheat the oven to 400F. Separate dough into 10 biscuits; cut into quarters.

Next, in a bowl, combine cinnamon and sugar together. Mix well. Dip each biscuit quarter into melted butter, then roll into sugar-cinnamon mixture. Arrange them into a greased loaf pan. Bake for about 19-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 2 minutes. Loosen the edges, then remove from the pan.

Overall, canned biscuit recipes come in handy and make recipes easier. Plus, the outcome of the pull apart loaf looks amazing and presentable. As the holidays are coming up, this would be a great dessert to make and bring to a holiday potluck or gathering. Also, if you need a last minute dessert idea, this would be the perfect item to bring, and no one would know you made these out of canned biscuits.
