Wondering what the item is? It’s just a nail brush. As small and simple as it may seem, this tool can do wonders. You can use it for so many things, and it may even give you the same results as when you get your car detailed.

What You Need to Clean Your Car

  • nail brush
  • microfiber cloth
  • all-purpose cleaner
  • wet vac
  • fabric cleaner
  • air freshener

Steering wheel

Use the nail brush and multi-purpose cleaner to clean your steering wheel. If you don’t have access to a multi-purpose cleaner, use a bucket of warm water, but it may take a few attempts to get it right.

Avoid spraying the cleaner directly onto the steering wheel because you don’t want to make a mess, especially where the dials are located. Just spray it onto a microfiber, rub it into the steering wheel, and follow up with the brush. Wipe it away with a dry microfiber cloth. This will work on sun cream marks, makeup, dried mud, and much more.

For the warm water, simply dunk a microfiber cloth into the bucket so it’s holding enough water, and use it to wet the steering wheel before scrubbing. Follow it up with the same method.

Car trim

You can’t use the nail brush on any shiny or polished surfaces, but because the plastic trim is so grainy in the bristles it will fit right into the grooves to give them a deeper clean. For tight areas, use a paintbrush. Use the same cleaning method above.

Car seat

Give the seat a few sprays of fabric cleaner and scrub away. Make sure you don’t scrub too hard. If you are starting to snag a little then it’s time to stop. Follow up with either a wet vac or a cloth. If using a cloth, try not to saturate it too much, or you might get a damp backside.

Carpets and mats

You can also use the nail brush for your carpets and mats. Brush it before or during the vacuuming will speed up the cleaning process.

Carpet stripes

Create carpet stripes by spraying air freshener onto the carpet and using the brush in opposite directions.
