Bell peppers are a popular fruit that provides color, flavor, and crunch to different dishes. Yes, they are technically fruits, but everyone treats them as vegetables. They come in many colors–green, yellow, orange, and red. Depending on the color, they can be sweet or bitter. The red ones are the sweetest of all the colors, while the green ones have a bitter taste. Some recipes you can make with them are  Mexican Stuffed Bell Peppers, Skillet Fried Cabbage With Bacon, Sausage, & Bell Peppers, and Chinese Take Out Pepper Steak.

One of my favorite dishes is roasted peppers. When roasted, they get this sweet, smoky, and caramelized flavor that is absolutely delicious. Give them a try! The only problem with peppers is that they can be hard to cut because of their awkward shape. If you don’t have a sharp knife, you might have trouble cutting the skin. It is also recommended to remove bell pepper seeds as they have a bitter taste and gritty texture, which adds another step in food preparation. If you dread cutting bell peppers, try this simple cutting method from The Domestic Geek.

Step 1:

Start by cutting off the stem of your pepper for a flat top. You surely don’t want your pepper moving while cutting it.

Step 2:

Turn the pepper upside down. Starting from the top, run your knife along the edges of the pepper. Make sure to cut all the flesh but none of the membrane and seeds. If there are a few pieces left, you can scrape them with a spoon. You will be left with pieces of pepper that you can cut in any way you prefer.
