To make this homemade apple cider from scratch, you will need apple cider, light brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, orange, lemon, and apples. It’s incredibly easy to prepare. First, add the apple cider and light brown sugar. Mix until completely melted. Next, add the spices and fruit slices. Cover the slow cooker with the lid and let it simmer for a few hours. Pour 1/2 gallon of apple cider into the slow cooker, then add 1/3 cup of packed light brown sugar. Whisk them together until completely dissolved.
Add 3 cinnamon sticks, 1 teaspoon of whole cloves, 1 teaspoon of whole spice, orange slices, and apple slices. Place the lid and set the slow cooker on low for 2 hours. This will allow the cider to heat slowly and the flavors to combine.
