The best thing about making homemade cranberry sauce is that you can customize the flavor and texture however you like. You can make it chunky or smooth, or mildly sweet or super sweet. If you find store-bought cranberry sauce too sweet, make them at home instead. You only need cranberries, powdered sugar or granulated sugar, orange juice, and water.

Place a pot over heat. Add 2 cups of fresh or frozen cranberries, 1/2 cup of water, and 2 cups of powdered sugar. Mix well.
Add 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon or orange juice. Mix and bring it to a boil.
Once boiling, turn the heat to medium flame and cook for 15 minutes. Allow the berries to burst.
Using a masher, mash the cranberries. Alternatively, you can use a handheld mixer or blender. Discard the seeds using a spoon.
Let it cook until it becomes thick. Once the jam is thick, turn off the heat. Let it cool completely.
Once the cranberry jam is cooled, transfer it to a jar, cover it with the lid, and refrigerate. It can be stored in the refrigerator for three weeks. You can also freeze it. Simply transfer the cooled jam into a clean jar with a lid. It can be stored for a year.
