To poach an egg, simmer water in a saucepan, crack an egg into a small bowl, swirl the water to create a whirlpool, slide the egg into the water, then cook for a few minutes. Start by pouring boiling water into your mug.
Crack your egg into the boiling water.
Place the mug in your microwave. Microwave eggs for a minute. Adjust the time depending on how runny or hard you like your poached egg. If you find that the egg is too runny for your liking, microwave it for a few more seconds next time you make one.
Once done, remove the mug from the oven and drain the water. Carefully transfer the egg to your plate. Serve for breakfast and enjoy!
