If you know that you will not be using the bananas you bought anytime soon, you can place them in the freezer. Ashley . The Recipe Rebel on YouTube shared the right way to freeze bananas. There is little to no preparation for freezing bananas.

Take whole bananas right in the peel and place them in the freezer. This method is great if you are going to use the bananas for baking. They will come out looking black. To use them for baking, let them thaw and proceed with the recipe.
This second method is perfect for smoothies and milkshakes. Get a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper or wax paper. Grab your bananas and peel them. Slice into small pieces, then place on the lined baking sheet. Make sure they are in a single layer. Freeze for an hour or two until they are firm. This step will ensure they won’t stick together and you can grab just a few chunks when needed. After 1 to 2 hours, transfer the banana slices into a freezer bag.
You can peel the bananas and flash-freeze them whole on a baking sheet just like you did with the second method. After that, transfer them to a freezer bag and place them back in the freezer. Your blender should be able to break them up for you when making smoothies. When using for baking, make sure to thaw them first, then mash.
