“With a flair and passion for writing, crafting, and cooking, I’ve embarked on a mission to discover promising content and turn it into simplified tutorials to help readers whip up their own nifty crafts and delicious food.
Food for me is an art form, so I get my kicks from playing around with flavors and ingredients. And, if you can’t find me in the kitchen, I’m probably lurking in a cozy café, sipping on some coffee while indulging in my favorite burnt Basque cheesecake with either a book or phone in hand, of course.”
I am from Dasmariñas City, Cavite, Philippines which is famous for the butterfly festival and is also popular for well-lit and decorated streets during Christmas, which spans from September to January here. This is perfect because Christmas is my favorite holiday and I always look forward to it!
What inspired my love of DIY and Cooking
My love for DIYs and crafts began when I was in college, I studied Communication Arts, a course that involves a lot of film, commercial, and theater plays, which required us to come up with and build our props using recycled or inexpensive materials. I loved the process of turning an item, usually considered trash or no use, into something completely different! This is why I always preferred subjects that involve a lot of practical performance, but I never say no to writing, after all, it was my first love, the passion that pushed me to pursue the course that I took.
When the pandemic hit, I tried everything I could do at home to ease my boredom and that’s when I discovered my love for cooking which my parents have been waiting for me to learn since almost everyone from both sides of the family are great cooks!
My Favorite Food
My favorite food to cook is Carbonara that’s super creamy and cheesy, have I mentioned I love everything with dairy? Ice cream, cheesecake, milk, cheese, butter, you name it, I love it.
My Favorite DIY Hack
Being a Filipino, I’ve learned a lot of hacks growing up, especially when it comes to cooking, and one hack that I know every household or Filipino knows about is putting some salt on top of the pot lid when cooking rice. I never knew how this works until I was old enough to search for answers, and it appears that the salt on top of the lid is what absorbs the excess moisture which ensures fluffy rice every time!
I’m always on the lookout for more hacks that make life easier, especially when it comes to cleaning and cooking. Every time I do find something worth sharing, I write about it and post it online, so others can know it, too, and maybe they’d find it handy!
My favorite holiday
Christmas. I love it so much that I start getting ready for my favorite holiday months ahead of time. There will always be wrapped gifts under the tree by the end of November.
