Have you ever wondered if there is a quick way to remove corn kernels from the cob? Most people are used to cutting them off the cob with a knife, but this technique does not remove the whole kernels, which leaves small portions behind. Sometimes, when it is cut too close, you will get hard pieces. It’s also a very messy method. You’ll probably get kernels all over your kitchen.

If you are looking for a different way to do it, try this technique by COOK WITH D. This is surely my favorite way to remove corn kernels from the cob. You can use the same process for raw and cooked corn. It’s definitely easy and quick! Make sure to try it next time you have corn at home.

The first thing you need to do is to remove one row of the corn kernels. Place a plate on your working surface to catch all the corn kernels. Hold the cob with your hand. Using your other hand, take the spoon and insert it between the kernels. Scoop out the first row. It’s going to be messy for this step and you’ll probably mash them, but that is okay. You will get them out perfectly in the next row.
Remove the second row. Starting from the top (the wider end), push the corn kernels toward the first row using your thumb until they separate from the cob. The corn kernels should come out perfectly. Repeat this step for the next rows.
