I have tried many chicken recipes before and most of them turned out delicious, I also love exploring different recipes no matter how strange or unique they sound. One of my most recent discoveries is a pretzel-crusted chicken, which may sound like an odd combination but the flavors just work so well together.

Chicken
Cheese Sauce
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 400°F, then line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and set it aside. Crush the pretzels in a food processor, then transfer them into a shallow bowl, and set it aside. In another bowl, beat the eggs and milk together, and in a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
Step 2
Slice the chicken lengthwise, then cover them with plastic, and pound them with a meat tenderizer to make them thin. Place a large skillet on a stove over medium-high heat, then heat the oil, and coat the chicken with the flour mixture evenly on both sides, making sure to shake off the excess.
Step 3
Place the chicken in the egg mixture, then dredge them in the crushed pretzels, and press them down firmly to let the pretzels stick. Place the chicken in the hot skillet, then allow it to cook for about 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown, and then transfer the cooked chicken to the prepared baking sheet.
Step 4
Place the cooked chicken in the preheated oven to bake for about 15 to 20 minutes until cooked through or the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Place a medium-sized saucepan on a stove over medium heat, then add the butter and let it melt, add the flour, and whisk for about 1 minute.
Step 5
Gradually pour in the milk, then continue whisking, and once it starts to thicken, reduce the heat. Add the cheddar cheese, then give them a good stir until smooth and melted, add the Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and paprika, and give them a good mix. Turn off the heat, then pour the cheese sauce over the baked chicken, and serve. Enjoy!
