Strawberries are delicious and you can use them in lots of tasty pastries and desserts, and they are also great to use in cold drinks. One of my favorite desserts to use strawberries in is tres leches cake, which is a soft and moist treat topped with a creamy frosting, and is simply delicious up to the last bite.

I love making this cake, especially for parties or other special occasions, and I even serve it for dessert whenever we host a cookout with family or friends. I also had a friend of mine ask for this cake for her Birthday and she loved it so much! Thanks to this recipe by Ma’s Cocina on YouTube.

Step 1
In a large bowl, add the water, eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon, then whisk them well until combined, add the cake mix, and keep whisking until incorporated and smooth. Pour the batter into a square and deep pan lined with parchment paper at the bottom, then spread it evenly, and bake it according to the package instructions or until a toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean.
Step 2
Toss the fresh strawberries in sugar, then add it to a blender or food processor followed by the evaporated milk, condensed milk, coconut extract, vanilla extract, and milk, and blend them until combined. Poke holes all over the cake, then pour the tres leches mixture making sure it gets soaked into the cake, and let it sit while preparing the frosting.
Step 3
In a stand mixer, add the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, freeze-dried strawberry crumbs, and vanilla extract, and whip them until stiff peaks form. Spread it over the cake evenly, then top it with crushed golden Oreos and freeze-dried strawberries, and garnish with cut fresh strawberries. Serve and enjoy!
