For each 42-count 10″ square, cut one 2 1/2″ x 10″ strip, and subcut it into four 2 1/2″ squares. Repeat these steps for every single 42-count 10″ square. Once everything is cut, sew everything back together again. First, rotate all of the prints around to mix up everything. This way, you’ll be able to create that scrappy look. After this, sew all of the 2 1/2″ together to form a 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ rectangle. Then, take that rectangle and place it either on top or bottom. Sew it afterwards. Once done, trim the unit to 9 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ rectangle. Repeat these until you have 42 pieces.
Once you have all of your blocks completed, lay everything out. Lay your blocks side by side, then for the even rows, rotate them 180 degrees so the 2 1/2″ squares will lay on the opposite side.
