Since the weather is getting warmer, it is the perfect time for BBQs. I absolutely love grilling burgers, vegetables, fresh seafood, and, of course, steak! And it wouldn’t be complete without a cold beer. I really don’t know why, but beer is so much better with grilled foods, especially if you are beside the pool. It’s something that I always look forward to every spring and summer.

One of the most important things you should not forget during the grilling season is a bottle opener. But if you happen to do so, do not worry. There are other kitchen utensils you can use. Did you know you can open a beer bottle using a pair of tongs, a spoon, or a garlic press? Yes, you can. America’s Test Kitchen will show you how to open a beer bottle without a bottle opener with these easy steps.
If you don’t have these items with you, you can also use another beer bottle to open the lid or even your bare hands. But since you most likely grill from home, these three kitchen products are the easiest ways.
Just grab a bottle, pop the bottom portion of the tongs under the lip, and use it just like a bottle opener.
Get a metal spoon. Hold the bottle on the neck. Your finger will be your fulcrum and the spoon is the lever. Hold the spoon as you normally would, place the end on the lip of the cap, and push it downwards until the cap pops out.
Since a garlic press is sturdy, you can also use it to open a bottle. Hold the bottle on the neck with your one hand and use the end of a garlic press as a fulcrum to open the lid.
