This Katie’s Quilt by Missouri Star looks harder than it is. You just need to make sashing blocks and four patches, and you can create this beautiful pattern. It’s super easy – even beginners can do this block.
Note: You’ll need the same number of 4 patches as 16 patches for this quilt

Make the four patches and sixteen patches first using your charm pack. For the four patches, get two pieces of charm packs with contrasting colors and place them right sides together. Sew down on both sides (top and bottom not included). After that, cut in half. Repeat with the other charm packs. Set the seams and press them open. Sew them together in a long strip with the blocks horizontal. Make sure they are contrasting. Next, fold one over and cut 2 1/2″ from the edge. Now, you have a four-patch. Repeat the process to make the other four patches.
For the sixteen patches, you just need to sew four pieces of four patches together.
Make the sashing blocks. Use the size of the four patches as the width and the size of the sixteen patches as the length.
Get the sashing rectangles and snowball the corners. Take a 2 1/2″ square, fold it in half diagonally, and press to make a crease. Place it on one corner of the rectangle and sew directly on the crease. After that, lay the ruler and put 1/4″ allowance from the stitch line and cut off the corner. Repeat with the other three corners. Press them open.
Arrange them in rows. For the first row, alternate the four patches and the sashing (horizontal position) – start with the sashing. For the second row, alternate the sixteen patch and the sashing (vertical position) – start with the sixteen patch. Repeat the first and second rows for the whole quilt.
