After this, remove the cooked onions and melt some butter again in the same pan. Once melted, add the squash. Season with some salt and ground black pepper. Cook them until soft, tossing them around frequently.

Once the squash is finished cooking, transfer it to a large bowl and add the crushed crackers and cooked onions. Toss everything, then stir in the shredded cheese. Next, add the sour cream, continue to mix, then season to your taste. Lastly, mix in the beaten eggs and combine everything together. After this, transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish, spreading them evenly. Top the casserole with some more shredded cheese, then layer the chopped bacon on top. Place it in a 375 degrees F oven and bake for 30 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
