There are a lot of biscuit recipes that you can find online but one of my go-to is this one by Home Cooking is for the Byrds on YouTube. This version is incredibly delicious and super easy to make so you’d probably want to eat it every day. I have tried making these biscuits a couple of times already and they always come out perfect, even my family can’t get enough of these yummy biscuits.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 425°F, then rub your cast-iron skillet pan with a generous amount of butter until completely covered, and set it aside. In a large mixing bowl, add the self-rising flour, then grate over a whole stick of unsalted butter, and pour the buttermilk making sure to shake it well first to make sure that the fat is properly mixed.
Step 2
Add in the baking powder and salt, then start mixing them all together with a fork until just combined, and make sure not to mash the butter. Coat a cookie cutter with flour as well as the rolling pin, then add a generous amount of flout on a tray, countertop, or your work surface, and coat your hands with lots of flour as well.

Step 3
Transfer the dough to the floured counter, then gently fold and flatten it about 5 to 6 times adding more flour every now and then as needed, and work on your dough until firm and not falling apart. Roll it out until 1 to 1½ inches thick, then cut the biscuits, and toss them in your hands lightly to get the excess flour out.
Step 4
Place the biscuits in the prepared skillet pan, then place the skillet in the preheated oven, and let them bake for about 17 minutes or until the top is nicely browned, make sure to keep an eye on them. Once done baking, rub them with butter all over the top, then serve, and enjoy!
