I was searching for some DIY projects I could do with my old tires the other day, and I came across this tutorial from MELNITSA TV on Youtube. It’s an easy DIY pet bed using an old tire, and this is just perfect for my fur babies. I immediately tried making one the next day, and I love how it came out. It’s a simple project that you could also do if you want to reuse your old tires like me. Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step-by-step instructions.
To start, wash your tire thoroughly and dry it completely. Next, drill a hole in the top part and start removing that portion using a jigsaw machine. This will make the top more open. After this, grab the wood board and trace the circle at the bottom of the tire, then cut the shape out. Next, attach the circle board at the bottom, inside the tire, and secure it with screws. After this, bring the tire out and spray paint it in the color of your choice. (You can also design it by painting some dog bones and paws around, be creative.) Let the paint dry completely.

While waiting for it to dry, go ahead, and make the foam of the bed. Grab your chosen fabric and cut two circles with the tire’s measurement. Sew it along the edges, leaving a gap for the foam. Next, cut a long wide strip of fabric that will act as the pillow around the edges of the bed. Sew it on the long edge and leave a gap. Fill the two cases with foam, then sew the gap close. Finally, place the round pillow in the center of the tire, then the long pillow around it. Your DIY pet bed is now finished!
