Ingredients:
- 4 1/2 cups of flour (625 grams for more accurate measurement)
- 6 3/4 tablespoons and 3/4 cup of milk (100 ml and 175 ml of milk)
- 1 tablespoon and 1/3 cup of sugar (divided)
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 teaspoons of mixed ground spice
- 1 tablespoon of dry yeast
- 1 egg
- 3.5 tablespoons of melted butter
- 3 oz of dried fruit
For the crosses:
- 6 tablespoons of flour
- 1/2 cup of water
For the glaze:
- 2 tablespoons of honey

Instructions:
Step 1:
Add 6 3/4 tablespoons of milk, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 and 1/2 teaspoon of dry yeast in a bowl. Mix until well combined.
Step 2:
In a large mixing bowl, add 4 1/2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of mixed ground spice, and 1/3 cup of sugar. Mix until well combined.
Step 3:
Add wet mixture, 3/4 cup of milk, and an egg to the flour. Mix all ingredients until it turns into a dough.
Step 4:
Transfer the dough to a floured mixture. Add the melted butter and knead the dough.
Step 5:
Grease a large mixing bowl and place the dough. Cover it with cling wrap and let it rise for about an hour.
Step 6:
Flour your surface again and transfer the dough. Add in the dried fruits and knead the dough. Flatten and cut into 15-18 pieces using a round cutter. Form each one into a ball and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover it with a cloth and let it rise for 1 hour.
Step 7:
Combine 6 tablespoons of flour and 1/2 cup of water in a bowl. Transfer to a piping bag and squeeze into the dough balls to form the cross.
Step 8:
Bake in the oven at 400F for 15 minutes.
Step 9:
Spread the honey into each piece of bread. Transfer the icing into a piping bag and squeeze it into the cross. Serve and enjoy!
