If you’re into cute, cozy rugs, you’ll gonna love this DIY pom-pom rug from HGTV Handmade on Youtube! It’s super easy to make and only needs a few materials. This will make a good weekend project to pass the time, and I’m sure you’ll absolutely adore the finished product! Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step-by-step instructions.
Measure and cut your rug pad to the size you like. With your pom pom makers, make enough pom poms to completely cover your mat. Double-up yarn makes poms at twice as speed, tripling even goes faster and creates a layered multi-dimensional look. Choose one base color like white and add smaller snips of a contrasting color. Continue on with the white and add another pop if you like. Prune your completed poms before adding them to the mat.

To add, cut pieces of yarn in the same colors about six to eight inches long and use a wide-eyed needle to tack them on. Now, place the pom on top, then come from the bottom with your needle. Pull both ends of the yarn through two different holes of the mat through the back. Make sure to double knot and tie a bow to secure. Do this to all of your pom poms, covering the whole mat.
