Ventilate the room and turn off the water source of your toilet.
Remove the tank cover and flush the toilet to remove all of the cold or lukewarm water. Just hold the handle down – it will drain almost all of the water.
Fill the tank until the fill line or as high as you need to with the hot water from the tap.

Add a cup of white brine and do not mix it. Make sure not to add any other chemicals. Let it sit for a little while. If you want to remove the dirt on the top, dip a rag in the solution and lay them over those areas.
Stir the solution and let it sit for about 1 hour.
Remove the rag and flush the solution. After that, pour some hot water and flush again. Repeat until all of the dirt is removed from the tank. Wipe the top part where you put the rags to remove the dirt. You can also use a brush to scrub it. After that, put the water source back on and flush again. Put your tank cover back on.
