Ingredients:

Meatballs

  • ¾ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ yellow onion, peeled
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 beef bouillon cube, crumbled
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Mushrooms

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

Gravy

  • 2 cups beef stock, low sodium
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper

Slurry

  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, add the breadcrumbs, then grate the onions over, and mix them together until incorporated. Next, add the ground beef, minced garlic, egg, ketchup, bouillon cube, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard, then mix them all together using your hands until well combined, and then roll them into balls. In a mixing bowl, mix together the slurry ingredients, then set it aside for later, and then place a large skillet pan on a stove over high heat. Add the oil, then let it heat up, and add the meatballs cooking them until all sides are nice and brown making sure to turn them over from time to time.

Step 2

Once done cooking, place the cooked meatballs on a plate, then set them aside, and melt the butter in the same skillet pan. Add the mushrooms, then let them cook over high heat for about 2 minutes or until they have softened, and add the salt, pepper, and garlic. Let them cook for another 2 minutes or until the garlic is golden, then add the beef stock, salt, pepper, and slurry, and stir them until well combined. Bring it to a simmer, then put the meatballs back into the pan including its juices, and turn the heat setting to medium leaving it to simmer for another 5 minutes or until the gravy has thickened and the meatballs are cooked through. Serve and enjoy!
