Freshly baked homemade bread is a staple in any household. But sometimes it can be a workout kneading the dough if you don’t have a stand mixer. So, here’s a delicious no-knead soft and fluffy bread recipe by Ellen’s Kitchen on Youtube. You can also put your favorite toppings to make it extra! Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of warm water
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of dry yeast
  • 3 cups of flour

For garnish:

  • 1.5 tablespoons of flour
  • 4 teaspoons of cold water
  • 3 and 1/3 tablespoons of hot water
  • 1 piece of egg yolk
  • sesame
  • butter (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1:

In a big bowl, add 2 cups of warm water, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of dry yeast. Stir everything well.

Step 2:

Add the 3 cups of flour into the wet mixture gradually, mixing after every addition. It will form into a sticky and thick dough. Leave the dough for 40 minutes in a bowl covered with cloth.

Step 3:

Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Sprinkle some more flour on top, then form the dough into a ball. Divide it into 2 parts. Form them into a long oval-shaped dough then flatten each one using your hands.

Step 4:

Place the dough into a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Flatten it more to spread it on the baking tray. Do the same for the other part. Leave them for about 20 to 30 minutes.

Step 5:

In a bowl, combine 1.5 tablespoons of flour and 4 teaspoons of cold water. Whisk the mixture lightly, then add 3 and 1/3 tablespoons of hot water. Mix again until smooth. Next, combine 1 piece of egg yolk.

Step 6:

Brush the top of the dough with the mixture. Then use your hands to make an oval border, then form it into square pieces by pressing them with your hands. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.

Step 7:

Bake at 482 degrees F for about 15 minutes with a baking sheet filled with hot water on the bottom of the oven.

Step 8:

Once done baking, brush with butter on top.
