In a bowl, combine 1 tbsp sugar, 2 tsp active dry yeast, and 1 cup milk. Mix it well and let it bloom for ten minutes. (Make sure that the yeast is fully dissolved.) After ten minutes, combine 1/2 cup unsalted butter and 1 large egg and mix. Then, add 3 & 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 tsp salt. Mix until dough consistency. After the dough forms, let it sit for 20 minutes uncovered. Next, flour your working surface and transfer the dough. Brush it with some butter. Knead it for ten minutes or until it becomes soft. After this, place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover it with cling wrap. Let it rest for an hour or until it doubles in size. After an hour, punch out the gas, then divide it into 16 pieces.

Form the dough pieces into balls, then place them in a baking tray lined with parchment paper. After this, cover the baking tray with cling wrap and let them rest for 30 minutes. While waiting, make an egg wash (combine 1 egg and 1 tbsp milk), then brush the top of the buns with it. Place this in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F and bake for 18 to 20 minutes.
