This simple dish by The Hillbilly Kitchen – Down Home Country Cooking on YouTube is such a proven delicious and classic recipe that you shouldn’t miss! Not only is this super easy to prepare, but it is also inexpensive, too. Serve this to your family and friends, they’ll love it for sure.
Step 1
Peel each apple, then remove its core without cutting them into sections and set them aside. In a saucepan, add the water, sugar, vanilla, and half a stick of butter, then stir them lightly and place the saucepan on a stove over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil for about 5 minutes and keep an eye on it, then stir occasionally to avoid burning at the bottom. Divide each pie crust into 3 flattened squares, then place the apple at the center of the dough, and pour a heaping tablespoon of brown sugar at the empty core.

Step 2
Mix together the cinnamon and nutmeg, then some on top of the apple, and place a tablespoon of butter on top as well. Gather the corners toward the center, then pinch the seams close, and squeeze the dough into the apple to make a ball. Repeat this process with the rest of the apples and the remaining ingredients, then transfer them into a baking dish, check on the syrup, and once thickened, pour over the apple dumplings. Let them bake in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes to an hour, then serve, and enjoy!
