Houseflies can be annoying when not properly taken care of. That is why it’s essential we know how to sanitize our house properly. These four simple steps from Solutions Pest & Lawn on Youtube are great tips we can adopt to make houseflies go away. Share this with your friends and family by watching the video below to learn these steps.

#1 Sanitize Your Home

Regularly take out the trash and keep the trash bin sealed. Clean the countertops frequently, clear the grease off stove tops and sweep or mop as often as you can. If you have pets, pick up or spray down dog droppings and clean litter every day.

#2 Use a Combination of Fly Lights, Glue Traps, and Insecticides

For glue traps, you can use Musca-Stik traps to capture flies. This is an insecticide-free trap that uses a combination of bright orange paper, glue, and a pheromone attractant to lure and trap the flies. Sprinkle the supplied attractant into the catch basin at the end of the stick. Hang this in areas you have seen housefly activity. The flies will be attracted to the stick, land on it, and get stuck – unable to fly away.

#3 Use Manti Fly Light Trap

It’s a lightweight, ready-to-use fly light that uses two bright, UV lights to attract flies. This does not zap the flies but instead lures them to a glue board positioned behind the bulbs where they will get stuck and unable to fly.

#4 Use Pyrid Aerosol

This provides quick contact kills. It’s also great for eliminating many different pests. Spray this when you see fly activity. You can also use a fogger.
