I’ve tried making numerous homemade fruit jams before and they are all incredible. Recently, a lot of my friends, as well as my family, have been requesting a homemade bacon jam, so I gave it a try. I’m so glad when I found out that one of my favorite channels on YouTube, The Stay At Home Chef, has already made a video tutorial about homemade bacon jam. It looked so incredible and tasted even better, not bad for a first try!
Step 1
Place a large and heavy skillet pan on a stove over medium heat, then once the pan is hot, add the bacon, and let them cook for about 10 to 15 minutes or until the fat has rendered and they turned brown. Add the sliced onion, and stir them around, then cook them for about 5 minutes or until the onion is soft and translucent. Add the brown sugar and give them a good stir until evenly combined.

Step 2
Pour 1 cup of beef broth, then bring it to a simmer for about 10 minutes or until the mixture has reduced and thickened. Repeat the process with the remaining broth pouring 1 cup in each addition making sure to let it reduce in between. Transfer the bacon mixture to a blender, then add the honey, paprika, and black pepper, and blend them all together for about 30 seconds or until the mixture is chunky. Stir in the butter until melted. Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks. Reheat before using.
