This meatloaf patty melt recipe requires little effort and time which is perfect for busy days and busy people, you can even make this if you’re in a hurry.

Ingredients:

  • 4 pieces of 6 inches sub rolls
  • 1 pound of lean ground beef, at least 90% lean
  • 1¼ cups of saltine crackers
  • 1 egg
  • ½ small onion, minced
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 4 tablespoons of ketchup, plus more for topping
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon of dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Directions:

Step 1

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the ground beef, crushed crackers, egg, onion, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then mix them all together until they are well combined. Then, split the sub rolls in half lengthwise, and put them on a baking sheet in a single layer. Top each half bun with the meat mixture, making sure to spread it out evenly amongst all buns.

Step 2

Spread additional ketchup on top of each meat mixture for as much or as little as you prefer. Put them in a preheated oven at 450 degrees Fahrenheit and let them bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or until the meat registers about 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Take them out of the oven and add some shredded cheese on top of each piece, then pop them back in the oven and let them bake for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
