We have all this strange fraying that happens near the plugin part of the cord. For whatever reason, all of my iPhone cords have done that exact same breakage, it is so annoying. Recently I found this video tutorial by Buzz Feed, on YouTube, that described 3 ways to deal with that exact potential problem, and possibly prevent it from happening in the first place. According to this video tutorial, there are 3 ways that this issue. You can get 2 clicking fountain pens, and remove the spings, then follow the clever instructions to wrap the springs around each end of the cord to reinforce it.
You can also use the paracord trick that also looks very attractive. This method is super easy too, all you have to do is just remove the interior cord and tie knots. This is a cute trick that provides a spine for the ends, where the cord meets the plug.
There is also a bracelet casing made from embroidery floss. This option is attractive and will make your cord sturdy.
