How to Store Bulk Items from Costco
1 – Brioche buns from the bakery section
It is a box of 12 buns. They’re soft, sweet, and taste buttery. Start by slicing them up, then place them in large resealable bags. Place as many as possible without squishing it too much. Remove extra air. Place in the freezer.
2 – Thick sliced bacon
Start by separating them into strips. If they are moist and slippery, use paper towels to dry them out. Place a sheet of parchment paper on your working surface, then lay each strip down, making sure there are spaces between each strip. Cut each and roll. See the photo below for reference. Place them upright in a freezer-safe container. Label, write the expiration date, and freeze them.
3 – Lemons
Clean the skin of the lemon then dry. Cut into thin slices. Get an air-tight jar and add lemon slices filling it halfway through and stacking them on top of each other to remove any air pockets. Pour honey but do not fill the jar entirely. Use a spatula to work the honey in. Seal and place in the fridge immediately. Let it ferment for 3 to 4 days. Give it a gentle press every day.
4 – English muffins
Do the same with the brioche buns. When using, defrost them for a few minutes before toasting.
5 – Mini cucumbers
Wash them properly, then dry them thoroughly with a paper towel. Wrap each cucumber like a burrito with a paper towel before putting it in resealable bags.
6 – Mozzarella
Store them in resealable bags. Spread them out as flat as possible, then freeze.
7 – Shabu shabu beef
Take a sheet of parchment paper, place a beef strip in the middle, and blot it dry with a paper towel. Fold one side, place another one, and blot again. Do the same with the other side.
