As we know, baking requires precision and consistency, especially when measuring ingredients. Avoid common baking mistakes by following the tips below. If you need room temperature butter, but it’s solid as a rock, pour some warm water into a container and throw in the stick of butter inside. Leave it in there until softens. It may take 10 minutes. This trick works with cream cheese and eggs, too. If the egg floats, it’s a bad egg.
Your oven may say 350F but in reality, it’s just 270F. It will make a big difference to your baked goods. For best readings, have the oven thermometer dangling in midair.
Sifting flour is important to get rid of clumps, but it can be messy. Do it over a sheet of parchment paper instead, it’s less messy and you have a vessel to transport it easier. You can use the parchment paper to bake them as well.
