As much as I love the Winter season, I hate that my car doors always freeze this time of the year. Luckily, CBC News on Youtube shared some really helpful tips to prevent this from happening. You don’t have to spend a lot; you could even DIY some ways to protect your can this Winter. Watch the video below to learn these.

#1 Open your car windows

Open your windows for a few seconds to let the cool dry air inside before locking off your car for the night. By doing this, frost formation will be prevented on your windshield.

#2 Defrost with AC

Defrost your windshield using your AC. It’s designed to pull moisture out of your car which could help clear frost faster.

#3 DIY de-icer

Save time in the morning by doing this DIY de-icer for your windshield. Mix 2 parts rubbing alcohol with 1 part of water and put it in a spray bottle. Spray this on your windshield and wipe it.

#4 Car cover alternative

If you don’t want to spend a lot, here’s a cheaper alternative for you. Slide two socks on your wipers and wrap plastic bags around the side mirrors. This will help protect it from ice and snow. Also, don’t leave your wipers up at night.

#5 Use cooking spray

Take some cooking spray and spray it on the rubber seal around your doors. Make sure to wipe off excess with a paper towel. This will help to prevent your car doors from freezing as oil prevent water from sticking to the seal.
