Vegetable gardening at home is such a great idea for many reasons. One of the main reasons in favor of growing your own food as we have seen grocery store food may not always be available or as convenient as in days gone past. One of the other reasons is the fact that growing your own food is one of the absolute best ways to control what you eat from soil to table and the surprising thing I realized while researching this topic is that growing your own food doesn’t have to be a long difficult process at all. There are so many videos that guide you through growing whatever vegetable or herb you could possibly think of. I found this excellent video by California Gardening that describes in the most simple way how to grow 5 vegetables in your backyard or in pots on your porch. I love fresh herbs and vegetables for the pasta and homemade pizzas I make for my family, but really for every meal I cook. When I buy it either freshly cut or actually growing in a pot, it withers and dies quickly and pre-cut is very expensive, also organic is my choice but it can also be expensive. That’s exactly why growing your own food is such a fantastic idea, if you did it for one year using this method you could have so much food from your plants, you might never have to buy any fresh food at the grocery store. The cutting and growing methods were not hard to follow at all.
