Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of flour
  • 1 1/2 cups of warm water
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tbsp of oil
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • cooking oil, for frying

Directions:

Step 1

Combine 1 1/2 cups of warm water, 1 tbsp dry yeast, and 1 tsp of sugar in a bowl. Mix well until the sugar dissolves, then add 1 tbsp of oil and 4 cups of flour (gradually add while stirring). Once the flour has been thoroughly mixed, add 1 tsp of salt and knead for a few minutes until smooth. After kneading, cover the dough and leave it for fifteen minutes to let it rise. After fifteen minutes, knead it again and leave for another thirty minutes.

Step 2

After thirty minutes, remove the cover of the dough. Oil your palms, form the dough into balls, and place them in a parchment paper-lined baking tray. After you have your dough balls, cover the baking tray and leave it for five minutes. Meanwhile, heat two pans; one with oil for deep frying, and the other with just a little oil. Once the oil is hot enough, take one dough ball, make a hole in the center, and gently place it in the pan with a little oil. After browning one side, transfer it to the other pan and deep fry it. Once it turned golden brown, flip it to the other side. Repeat the same steps with the other dough balls.
