This creme brulee foolproof recipe from Preppy Kitchen on Youtube only needs five ingredients! That’s right; it’s the easiest version out there, and you’ll love how rich and flavorful this creme brulee is. It’s one of my go-to make-ahead desserts especially if I’m hosting a Sunday brunch for my family. I mean- they all love this dessert and always ask for this. Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of heavy cream
  • 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped (or vanilla extract)
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup + 9 tsp granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F. Next, in a small saucepan, add 3 cups of heavy cream, vanilla beans as well as the vanilla bean pod. Place it on the stove over medium heat. Bring it to a scald, then let it infuse for fifteen minutes. While waiting, separate five eggs into their yolks. After this, add 1/2 cup sugar to the yolks and a pinch of salt. Whisk until combined, then set aside. Back to the cream, once it cooled down, strain it to the whisked yolks. Whisk them together to combine.

Step 2

Now, place your ramekins in a casserole dish with hot water, then pour the mixture into each ramekin. Once done, place them in the preheated oven at 325 degrees F and bake for thirty to forty minutes until they’re set. After baking, let them cool completely, then chill in the fridge for several hours or up to two days. When ready to serve, sprinkle about 1 1/2 tsp of caster sugar over the surface. Blow torch the sugar until it starts to caramelize and bubble. Serve immediately.
