To make these homemade cheese crackers, you only need five ingredients – cheddar cheese, unsalted butter, salt, flour, and water. They come together easily and are ready in just a few minutes. My family loves these crackers so much, they can finish one bowl in an instant. These are perfect for weeknight movies, party appetizers, or snacks whenever you want something cheesy and crunchy. Go ahead and give this recipe a try – I am sure you won’t regret it.
Start by preheating the oven to 350F.
In a large bowl using a hand mixer or bowl of a standing mixer, add the cheese, butter, and salt. Mix until well combined.
Add the flour and mix well. Pour the ice water one tablespoon at a time, mixing after every addition. It should hold together but crumble apart when you break it up using your hands. You can add a little more of ice water if needed.
Divide the dough into two halves and pack together into discs. Cover with parchment paper and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Place the dough on your work surface and roll it out to 1/8 of an inch. Pinch the ends if there are any cracks.
Cut into 1 inch squares and poke holes in the middle of each square for ventilation.
Place the crackers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 13 minutes or until golden brown.
