Step 1

Add 2 cups of self-rising flour to a bowl followed by grated one stick of cold butter. Mix together until well combined and the consistency becomes crumbly. (Make sure to work fast as you want everything to stay cold.) Next, add 1 cup of cold buttermilk and continue mixing until it becomes a dough.

Step 2

Now, go ahead and sprinkle some flour on your work surface, then dump over the dough onto the board. (Make sure your hands are floured properly because the dough is super sticky.) Fold the dough a few times to create beautiful layers in the biscuit. After this, roll it out, then get your biscuit cutter and drive it right down into the dough. After this, place the biscuits into the baking pan. Place it in the oven at 450 degrees F and bake for 12 to 14 minutes. After baking, you can brush some melted butter onto the biscuits and they’re ready to be served.
