Here’s another viral trend from social such as TikTok and Instagram that a lot of people have been trying out, the mini donut cereal. This tutorial by Savor Easy shows how to make cute miniature-sized donuts with just 2 ingredients. I love how there is no egg, or yeast needed to make this donut. It’s hard to find yeast in stores because everyone is baking. I love seeing random things trending like these because it keeps life a little entertaining in the kitchen. I love to bake so it challenges me to do something fun when I have alone time or when I’m with friends. I’ve never made donuts because I thought it would be hard, but with 2 ingredients it’s hard to say no. These mini donuts look so tasteful and addicting. I could eat them without the milk or just have it on the side as a drink. This can be a good or bad thing. Good because they’re bite-sized and maybe I can feel better about eating more. Bad because I might not have the self-control and eat more than I should. I never would’ve thought you can make donuts with just self-rising flour and yogurt. It’s cool to explore your options with baking.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup self-rising flour (113g) (if self-rising flour is not available, you can use 1 cup of all-purpose flour and 2 tsp of baking powder)
  • ½ cup yogurt (125g)
  • melted white chocolate
  • melted semi-sweet chocolate
  • sprinkles

Directions:

First, start off with your batter by mixing the self-rising flour and yogurt. Once mixed and in a ball, transfer the dough to a counter and roll it out 6mm thick. Use a round shape cutter to carve out your mini donuts.

Next, deep fry your mini donuts on medium-low heat until they become lightly brown. They cook fast so make sure to keep an eye on them.

After, coat them with your preference of chocolate or keep them plain. I love chocolate so I would coat them in dark chocolate. I can’t wait to try this recipe out and see if it’s as simple as it looks.
