My daughter needed a special book cover for her favorite craft book so I thought, why not wrap good reads and notebooks in a two-stitch, easy-knit book cover pattern complete with a little pocket for highlighters or hooks. A sleeve for the bookish crafter! She gets so much attention over it, I’m going to have to make more for all her books. She has been nudging me by saying, “Mom, my books are cold!” She’s such a little stinker. 😉
This morning, I decided to make a DIY craft crochet bag as a gift for my daughter’s best friend. This is a simple sack pattern that has straight sides with pockets accented with built-in handles. The cool thing about this pattern is that you don’t have to line the bag or cover the interior. This yarn is from Joann’s Fabric Store, where you can always use your app coupons. I found these coordinating Murano yarns that looked awesome. The bag is fairly deep which makes it the perfect size for an overnight stays. This is an adorable DIY Christmas gift for teens, also a birthday present you can knit. Make a few of these darling bags, they are sure to be adored.
My Mom is always getting a chill in her throat and ears, so I decided to make her an elegant knitted scarf with pom poms for Christmas. She loves my hand knitted DIY gifts and brags to everyone at her church group how her daughter is and an excellent knitter, of course, that leads into she learned it all from me, but that’s ok with me. She’s going to love this so much because it’s a bulky knit that could double as a pillow on a long journey. She can wear it around outside and its cloth so it’s not uncomfortable inside either. I recommend this 100%, you will not be disappointed.
Everyone I’ve ever made these for loves them, they have such an Earthy feel and with the cold slowly creeping up on us, there’s really nothing better than the thought of hot chocolates, fires, onesies, snuggles and a cute new knitting project to keep you busy and warm. We managed to find this free pattern for our newest obsession: slipper boots! These amazingly cozy-looking boots are like the love-child of socks and slippers that look like they’ll give your feet (and ankles) a big ol’ comforting hug!
I’m really and 80’s gal, so when I saw these fingerless gloves I fell in love. I first saw them in England at the open air markets worn by the Cockney Green Grocers, they really loved them because they keep your hands warm while leaving your fingers free to count change. I love them and made many DIY knitted Christmas gifts while curled up by my fire.
I needed an awesome gift idea and was looking for an easy DIY project I could knit. I found a coaster idea on Pinterest that was so quick and easy. I had made more than one set so I can keep them on hand for last minute birthday, hostess or housewarming gifts. I made them from old yarn I had, this may just be that special project you have been dreaming to find. Put that old yarn you have been saving to good use and make gifts for friends and family. At my house, these incredibly cool coasters are almost always a topic of conversation at parties. Check out the easy step by step tutorial in the link to learn how to make these creative DIY spool knit coasters. If you are looking for cute DIY gifts to give to friends for Christmas, or home birthday present ideas, these coasters are a cute choice.
I love my natural bath potions and I like to make DIY knit or crochet washcloths out of hemp or burlap. These make excellent gifts and will not be under appreciated by anyone. They are super easy and are the hight of luxury. Everyone everywhere thinks these are fab if they don’t? Check their pulse. 😉
There’s a place for your toes to stick out, the foot’s answer to the fingerless gloves! Just wow! I saw this elegant DIY knitted cowl neck scarf on Pinterest and immediately thought about my Aunt. Aunt Hazel is always getting a chill in her throat and ears, so I decided to make her an elegant knitted scarf with for Christmas. She loves my hand knitted DIY gifts and brags to everyone at her church group how her niece is and an excellent knitter, of course, that leads into she learned it all from me, but that’s ok with me. She’s going to love this so much because it’s a bulky knit that could double as a pillow on a long journey. She can wear it around outside and its cloth so it’s not uncomfortable inside either.
