It’s that time of year, when all I really want to eat several times a week is a warm, nurturing bowl of soup. And the soup that comforts me the most has always been my Mom’s homemade chicken noodle soup.

Mom’s soup has been on my “to do” list for a couple years already, and I am embarrassed that it has taken me this long to nail down the recipe. In the back of my mind, I think I’ve really only wanted Mom to make it for me. Not out of laziness, but out of the yearning for those memories of my mom’s cooking. But that’s not a great way to make sure recipes get passed along generation to generation. It was time for me to get this recipe into my recipe box and make this on my own. Before getting my Mom’s recipe, I ran across Laura’s tutorial and she makes her chicken noodle soup the same way my Mom used to make it for our family! Mom didn’t add the white wine, but I thought that sounded yummy and tried it…it does add a great flavor, so I’ll be using that the next time I make this soup too!
