T-shirt upstyles are my favorite things to make. And, the good news is that you don’t have to sew that well to make this! You can probably make this in 15-30 minutes…it’s that easy!

I’ve already made a couple of them and they’re so cool for the summer. They’re really cute and comfortable too! This is such a great summer dress and you can make it no time at all! Mark Montano has some really great tutorials and I usually enjoy the DIY craft he does…especially this one!

Materials Needed:

  • Sewing machine with ball point needle
  • 60″ x 60″ knit fabric
  • Knit tank top in matching color
  • Matching thread
  • Scissors
  • Straight pins
  • Fabric pencil

Fold your fabric in half, then in half again, fold your tank in half, then line up the folds of both. Mark the width of the folded tank on the knit. Either on a dress form, or yourself, place the knit over the tank. Position it where you want….I’m just going to let you watch the tutorial. It’s easier to understand.

Mark Montano, with Make your Mark, shows you exactly how to make this cool dress in his step by step tutorial, so check it out!
