Don’t you love a challenge?  Well, this lady does, and she was dedicated to it! She had to use her imagination when she vowed to work only with what she had left over from her other quilting projects and what she created was outstanding! Most of us have tried to make something nice out of our ever-growing basket of fabric scraps, but this woman makes the most amazing fabric scrap project I’ve ever seen! This quilt is so amazingly beautiful, you just have to see it. I wish I could see hers in person, but I am halfway through making mine, and I already just love it.

This quilt belongs in a museum, honestly.  Impressed would be an understatement!

She calls this quilt “Summer Dreams” and you can see why…it’s beautiful! All of the thread painting was done on her vintage treadle sewing machine.  I didn’t even know there was a machine that could do this!

My mother’s got a machine that does all kinds of writing and fancy stuff, but I’ve never seen anything quite like this!  I’m fascinated by how she paints with her sewing machine, and the time and dedication it must have taken her to make this. It would’ve taken me forever!

Here’s what she had to say about the project:  “This beautiful art quilt was made entirely from my scrap pile! If any of you are like me you hate to throw out those scraps…well now you don’t have to…..Use them and create some beauty! All of the stitching of this quilt was done on a vintage treadle sewing machine but a modern machine will work just as well!”

Watch this video to see what she makes and how she does it!  Be sure to SHARE this with your friends on Facebook, too! They’re sure to be impressed like we were!
